Hey there! I'm a polymathic designer with a passion for Design Justice who is a self described "professional communicator". Currently, I'm rocking the role of UX Innovation Designer on the IBM Client Engineering team, a beautiful blend of design and consulting in which I bring to the table over a decade of diverse experience. I've delved into various platforms such as web, mobile, AR, VR, and beyond, taking charge of the design process from inception to execution. At IBM, I've orchestrated over 100 Enterprise Design Thinking Workshops for big shots like Samsung, United Airlines, and Nike, unearthing opportunities for IBM’s Hybrid Cloud and Generative AI solutions to tackle their business hurdles.
My goal? To seek solutions for an equitable future. To make that happen, I've taken an active leadership role in IBM's Inclusive Design Guild and steered the IBM Accelerate Design program. I've been in charge of forging inclusive design processes, crafting resources, supervising an inclusive design certification program, and priming underrepresented college students for careers through the IBM Accelerate Design program.
Bridging the gap between work and community, I proudly serve as the Secretary of the City of Austin’s Project Connect Community Advisory Committee, delivering support and guidance to the City Council and Capital Metro Board on matters concerning Austin’s public transportation initiative.
Off duty, you'll catch me diving into books that I never seem to finish, indulging in solo movie nights, making killer playlists, whipping up some tunes at home, and of course, snacking. Don't be shy, come say hi! 👋✨
I currently guide Fortune 500 clients through Enterprise Design Thinking activities, shaping business opportunities and co-creating solutions with IBM's Hybrid Cloud and Generative AI technologies. This ongoing effort is resulting in revenue growth and sales opportunities. As the lead UX designer in a diverse team of experts, including engineers, data scientists and solution architects, I champion human-centered design practices in client engagements. This involves utilizing design sprints, solution fictions/futures, journey mapping, and mental modeling to inform the client's ongoing digital transformation strategy. My responsibilities extend to crafting low to high-fidelity wireframes and clickable prototypes using Figma design software, incorporating the IBM Carbon Design System in the present for creating customer pre-sales proof of technology experiences.
I worked with GM business partners to ideate, test, and deliver on the future of mobility. I led design in a balanced team alongside product management, engineering, and business stakeholders. I supported the end-to-end life-cycle of a product from concept to delivery. My daily responsibilities ranged from user research and gathering requirements, to facilitating workshops, and conveying ideas in tangible forms like sketches, wireframes, user flows, journey maps, prototypes, and annotated asset libraries. I also worked to indoctrinate agile methodologies within GM. In conjunction with these efforts, I coached teams on the principles of design justice, and advocated for UX processes that center those who are most impacted by inequities.
Through journey maps, storyboarding, wireframing, prototyping, and competitive analysis, I translated UX concepts into UI interactions. I created low to high fidelity models and prototypes for customer testing and management reviews, as well as crafted journeys to demonstrate usefulness, usability, and desirability of features and experiences. While at Ford, I organized and executed a week long usability research clinic for Autonomous Vehicle (AV) interfaces, which was awarded a certificate in recognition of extraordinary effort. In addition to my work on AV’s, I developed and tested prototypes for Augmented Reality (AR) navigation and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
As the sole designer at Fast Effect, I worked in collaboration with a team of developers to create engaging, interactive products and experiences. For nearly 4 years I was responsible for executing the UI, UX, and interaction design of an array of products - spanning across web, mobile, AR, VR, and beyond. My work on the Denso Interactive Slider was awarded 2 Telly’s - one for corporate image, and the other for general information.
